For customers who are studying the ATC PPL/CPL Navigation book and/or the Flight Radio VFR book.
For visual navigation in Class G airspace many pilots use the excellent WAC charts – with or without GPS assistance.
However, this represents a real risk as the departing pilot has no information on the radio frequencies in use for the area or the non-towered aerodromes.
These frequencies are shown in ERSA, on the En-Route Low charts (ERC) and the VTC for capital city terminal areas.
It is vital that a pilot planning a cross-country flight refers to the appropriate ERC in advance.
