Following on from Basic Aeronautical Knowledge (for the RPL), this manual covers every Part 61 MOS requirement for the PPL theory examination, and then goes further.

CASA’s syllabus defines the minimum level of knowledge for the issue of a licence, as it must. But our experience has always been that good pilots know their aircraft, themselves, the environment and the procedures in far greater depth than the minimum. So this manual is written around a simple idea: it teaches you what you should know, not merely what you need to know.

That’s where this manual genuinely steps up. We’ve expanded the meteorology coverage well beyond syllabus basics, strengthened the treatment of human factors, and added substantial new threat and error management (TEM) content – the practical, decision-making knowledge that keeps private pilots safe long after the exam is behind them.

Each chapter closes with review questions so you can test your understanding as you go and walk into the examination with confidence.
